There are two different types of jobs on campus, ones for WORK STUDY and the other are regular jobs. WORK STUDY jobs tend to be light jobs where you can study while at work. They usually pay a little bit more because the funding comes from New York State.
The normal jobs pay around 7-9 a hour. You can search jobs in SOLAR under job opportunities, the campus lists all job openings via SOLAR. You can go contact each employer to discuss work hours. They are usually very flexible with you. If you are interested in jobs off campus, you can visit the Career Center at the library, they have a huge network of employees seeking to hire Stony Brook students to work off campus.
